Retro-Modern, Modern and Classical elevations were submitted by Jim Lucia for the same floorplan. A multi-level design with an elevator allowed incorporation of a basement option—unusual in Florida. The first floor encompasses a kitchen,a dining room, a living room and a foyer, all in defined spaces and yet open to one another. The kitchen opens onto an outdoor living area with a pool and a lanai. The basement encompasses a home theater, a guest room and a bar. Upstairs, the master bedroom suite with sitting area leads to a balcony, as does the his-and-her office, which could be converted into two additional bedrooms.

From the Judges The spaces are both highly ordered and coherently arranged, yet flexible and open...Relegation of the cars to the backyard makes this a neighborly house.
