Mattamy Homes has started construction of a new model home at Lake Jean, located off Goldenrod Road in east Orlando. Lake Jean includes 46 homesites with new homes priced from $226,990. The three- and four-bedroom single-family homes will range in size from 1,541 to 2,800 square feet and offer two- and three-car garages.

Centerline Homes has announced plans to build homes at Eagle Creek, a golf-course community in southeast Orange County near Lake Nona. Single-family homes are planned priced from the low $200s.

Ashton Woods Homes has ready-to-move-in homes at Wickham Park, The Enclave at Berkshire Park, Thornhill, Lakeside Condominiums and the Lakes of Windermere, all in the Windermere area, and at Savannah Park at Heathrow in Lake Mary. Prices range from $119,900 to $229,000.

Bressler Custom Homes has recently sold a luxury custom home for $1.1 million in the Lake Nona-area community of Bellanona Grande Estates.  Plans call for 27 homesites starting from the mid-$700s.

Mattamy Homes has opened a Central Florida New Home Design Center in Suite 1004 at 762 North Lake Blvd. in Altamonte Springs. There homebuyers can choose hundreds of interior décor and decorating options, fixtures and ?features with professional assistance.

James Hardie Building Products has introduced  the company’s latest concept in home exterior protection—The Hardie-Zone System. It’s specifically designed to deliver superior performance under varying climate conditions, such as Florida’s heat, humidity and rainfall.

A new model now open in Harmony, an environmentally sensitive development in Osceola County, is the first in a series of David Weekley Homes that will be certified by Water Star, Energy Star and the Florida Green Building Coalition. Three homes are ready now and another four will be ready by November 30. They range in size from 1,218 to 2,621 square feet and are priced from the $170s to the mid-$200s.

Kathleen Gallagher McIver of RE/MAX Town & Country Realty has been inducted as the Orlando Regional Realtors Association 2010-2011 president. Gallagher McIver’s real estate career started in a Winter Park-based real estate company established in 1954 by her father, Don. 

Steve O’Dowd was recently installed as 2010 president at the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando. O’Dowd, who is a civil engineer and contractor, is president of O’Dowd Construction, a private residential homebuilding and land development company.
